ONE YEAR OF MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN IDEMILI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

It is exactly a year, the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, appointed the Transition Committee Chairmen across the 21 Local Government Area of state.

Since them, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Idemili) had been working closely with the ideas, ideals and vision of our hard working Governor, Professor Charles Soludo.


Toeing the same line of action with Professor Charles Soludo's vision of Green, Sustainable, Clean and Liveable homeland, Hon. Amaka Obi and her team have been able to impact positively on the patriotic people of Idemili South Local Government Area.


The development of infrastructure facilities is the key indicator for measuring any societal development. 

Council boss and her team have worked closely with Anambra State Government under the leadership of Governor Charles Soludo, through the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Matters for the good people of Idemili South with the flag-off and construction of many roads and other infrastructures in the area.

Hon. Amaka Obi and her team set up Road Maintenance Agency named "Idemili South Road Maintenance Agency" (ISRMA), this is to enable them have a quick quality maintenance works on failed portions of the council area roads and dangerous potholes.

"We have worked closely with Anambra State government under the leadership of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo through the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community matters for the good people of Idemili South with flag off and construction of many roads and other infrastructural developments.

However, we have set up road maintenance agency named “Idemili South Road Maintenance Agency" (ISRMA), this is to enable us have a quick quality maintenance works on failed portions of our roads and dangerous pot holes" She said.


Last Year December 2022, Idemili South Local Government under the leadership of Hon. Amaka Obi facilitated the sand filling, palliative works and grading of;

Awka-Etiti Ide Nnokwa Road.

Awka-Etiti- Nnewi Nitel road.

Nnobi Agbom Primary School to Awka-Etiti road.

Nnobi Ume Junction Awka-Etiti road.

Awka-Etiti -Azigbo-Nnewi Road.

The Council boss and her team have also reconstructed the collapsed Nnokwa Health Center Perimeter fence to prevent invasion by hoodlums.

Mrs Obi said "We are the first Local Government to do a ward based free medical outreach and we also sponsored a three months free medical treatment for children, the elderly and the youths in the seven communities that made up Idemili South LGA in all our primary healthcare centers and health post.

We also partnered with Anambra State primary healthcare development agency for the one week maternal, new born and child health which we flagged of at Nkolofia health center Awka-Etiti and Ebenesi Nnobi health center."

Iyom Idemili and her team facilitated the re-construction of a Culvert at St. Joseph Catholic church, Awka-Etiti, Isseke Ukpor road for easy access through the state ministry of works.

They are presently renovating the burnt Idemili South LGA INEC Office.

They attracted the reconstruction of one kilometer Oba-Umuoji road asphalted through Hon. Chief Ikenna Iyiegbu(Ike Cubana).

They were the first Local Government Council to change their billboard to the new look of Solution Is Here.


They are presently renovating and repainting of the traditional rulers' building inside the local government headquarters.

Council boss and her team installed air conditioners, bought new chairs and new tables for Idemili South LGA council hall, so that they can stop hiring chairs and tables. They also renovated the damaged ceilings at the local government council hall and inspected the building of Agro industry by our illustrious son, Seaman Group.

Idemili South LGA under Hon. Amaka  Obi's watch is currently building a modern toilet at Eke Awka-Etiti.

Hon. Amaka Obi and her Team are also in continuous talk with the state government to construct more roads in the council area, so as to checkmate insecurity improve the wellbeing of the area.

They have repainted local council headquarters all round perimeter fence with carvings as a beautification at the entrance of the council headquarters.

Council boss and her Team have repaired and replaced damaged drive way/walk way inside the local government secretariat.

They have also repaired and replaced all old windows in the local government council headquarters with almanaco windows.

Iyom Idemili and her Team are presenting constructing an ICT building inside the local government council secretariat for easy access to information and communication technology to the people.

Hon. Amaka Obi is always passionate and concerned about the welfare of umu Idemili South, therefore do her best to the notice of our state government the challenges they encounter in the council area. She is instrumental and fully participated in the Inspection of the erosion site at Oba-Owerri road. They also brought the attention of the state government to the damaged portion of Nnobi-Nnokwa-Agulu road and they were at the Inspection with the Commissioner for Works representative.

Etche LG Chairman Order Immediate Reconstruction Of Dilapidated School (see photos)

The Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board has promised to look into the state of some government owned schools in the state. Karibi George , the Director, Administration and Supplies/Public Relations told our correspondent that the state government has taken note of the report by the media and will include the affected schools in its plans subsequently. CVR: DELTA GOVT INTENSIFIES EFFORT TO REGISTER MORE DELTANS AHEAD OF 2023 ELECTION

 Delta State Government has put all mechanisms in place to ensure all eligible voters participate in the on-going continuous voter registration (CVR) and has subsequently direct all political appointees to mobilize to the grassroots for sensitization. The Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, made this known on Monday in Asaba, said is to ensure that the Delta has a good number of votes for the forth coming general election.
