Pupils sit on floor to learn in Rivers State (See Photos)

Two years after the Rivers State government declared free education in state primary and secondary schools, some pupils still sit on the floor to learn due to lack of desks and chairs.

Correspondent Martha Okere who visited one of such classrooms in Community Primary School, Amaku Igbodo in Etche Local Government Area reports that the children use broken blocks stacked together as desks and chairs.


The classrooms were leaking without windows and doors. Residents of the area expressed sadness at the state of the school.

Our correspondent however learnt that the Etche Local Government Chairman, Obinna Anyanwu is constructing classroom block in nearby Igbodo Community.

VP Osinbajo Commissions Digital Shoemaking Facility In Anambra State

Prof. Osinbajo, while stating that the federal government has established MSME clinics in 27 States of the federation, he reiterated the federal government's commitment to the welfare of its citizens including the economic sustainability plan, 75 billion naira support scheme, among others, emphasizing that the leather facility has monthly production of 96000 shoe soles, 44000 slippers and others.
