IPOB: APC berates Obiano, as sit home order Denied Students of Neco Exam

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Anambra State has accused Governor Willie Obiano of not doing enough to forestall Monday's sit-at-home by the IPOB, that denied school children from taking their NECO examinations.

The party is demanding that Obiano apologises for the failure of his government to get  students in Anambra State to take their Mathematics Ordinary Level NECO examinations and announce a remedial plan   within  seven days.

Speaking with our correspondent in Awka, the State APC Publicity Secretary, Okelo Madukaife said given the long notice given,  Obiano should have employed tact, diplomacy, dialogue to  save lives, and secure the future of the school children, if not avert capital losses for the day.

The Anambra APC insisted that Obiano cannot continue to be a governor, yet not be able to govern, wondering why the threat of non-payment of August 2021 salary to workers who abstain from work, would be  the only measure the governor could take.

It should be recall that Proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked all residents of the South-East region to comply with its sit-at-home order every Monday until its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is released.

IPOB had on July 30 ordered a sit-at-home in the region, said the lockdown tagged ‘Ghost Monday’ will also affect schools and marketplaces.

Leader of the group, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is facing charges bordering on treasonable felony brought against him by the Nigerian government over his campaign for the Republic of Biafra.
