The Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board has promised to look into the state of some government owned schools in the state.

Karibi George, the Director, Administration and Supplies/Public Relations told our correspondent that the state government has taken note of the report by the media and will include the affected schools in its plans subsequently.

Similarly, in a swift response, the Etche Council Chairman, Obinna Anyanwu, visited the dilapidated Amaku Igbodo primary school, orders for immediate reconstruction of the school.

Recall that Central Primary School Amaku Igbodo has been on the news for days now, owing to its pitiable condition.

Correspondent Martha Okere who visited one of such classrooms in Community Primary School, Amaku Igbodo in Etche Local Government Area reports that the children use broken blocks stacked together as desks and chairs.

The classrooms were leaking without windows and doors. Residents of the area expressed sadness at the state of the school.
