ANAMBRA ASSEMBLY COMMENCES ASSESSMENT OF 2021 BUDGET IMPLEMENTATION
The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation has commenced the assessment of ministries performance with regard to 2021 budget implementation.
The exercise, which is n line with its oversight responsibilities, holding at the state Assembly is a prerequisite for the presentation of 2022 Appropriation Bill that is ongoing.
The chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Chief Obinna Emeneka explained that the exercise affords them the opportunity to cross match the projects executed by government ministries with the funds appropriated to them and devise more ways to generate revenue for the state government in 2022 Appropriation Bill.
Giving an account of how the ministry of Health accessed its budgeted fund this year to the house committee, the commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala, informed the committee that they generated revenue for the state through registration of hospitals and maternities, sale of common entrance forms, renewal of contracts, registration and renewal of traditional medicines, tuition fees for College of Health Technology Obosi, among others.
Hon. Emeneka commended them for documenting their activities very well and for living up to expectations.
